How to connect your KuCoin account to Alpha Impact?

Alpha Impact has launched Kucoin integration on our web app. Read on to find out how you can link your Kucoin account in 6 simple steps!

What is an API key?

An application programming interface (API) key is a code to identify and authenticate an application or user. When you include your API key onto the Alpha Impact platform, our servers will be able to connect your Kucoin exchange account and reflect the information on your Alpha Impact profile.

How to retrieve the Kucoin API key?

Step 1: Log into your Kucoin account on your desktop

Head over to https://www.kucoin.com/ and log into your account. Do note that you will need to do this on your desktop, not your mobile application.

Step 2: Create an API key

Next, click the profile button on the upper right corner of the dashboard and select “API Management”.

You can then click on “Create API”.

You will then be required to enter a name for your API key and an API passphrase. Think of the latter as a password for your API key. For easier reference, you may choose “Alpha Impact” as an API key. Select “Trade” under the API Restrictions category and choose/edit your IP restrictions.

Alpha Impact IP addresses are:

52.220.91.198 , 13.213.195.58 , 34.143.176.17 , 35.240.143.136

Press “Next” once done.

Step 3: Pass the security verification process

You will then be redirected to the page as shown below.

You will need to enter your trading password, email verification code, and 2FA code to pass the security check. Copy the codes to the respective fields and complete the verification to proceed.

Step 4: Activate your API key

Thereafter, a confirmation email will be sent to your email. Proceed to press the “Click Activate API” button and the activation will be successful.

Head back to the API Management page on Kucoin and you will notice that the API key has been created.

To connect your Kucoin account to Alpha Impact, be sure to copy both the API key and API secret.

Note: Your API secret cannot be displayed and will only be shown once. As such, be sure to note it down and keep it safe for any future use.

How to connect to Alpha Impact?

Step 5: Log into your Alpha Impact account

Once you have copied your API key on Kucoin, head over to https://alphaimpact.fi/ and log into your account. Click on “Linked Portfolio” before proceeding to click on either the green “+” logo or the “+Connect” icon.

Step 6: Create a portfolio

Key in a name for your Kucoin portfolio and click on the dropdown menu to select Kucoin as your exchange. Proceed to paste the copied API key, API secret, and API passphrase before opting for either a private or public portfolio.

If you are looking to gain followers and monetize your trades, be sure to make your portfolio public for other Alpha Impact users. Click on “Save” to proceed.

And you’re done!
